Resident Visiting Policy

Under updated guidance from Massachusetts Department of Public Health,

Residents may receive any visitors at any time.

Residents may receive in room visits if they meet the following criteria:

  • The resident and/or their roommate are not immune compromised
  • If in a semi-private room, the resident’s roommate is fully vaccinated.

Residents who are not able to have in-room visits will be directed to a designated visiting area to receive their visitor.

Visitors must go directly to the resident’s room or the designated visiting location and stay with the resident in for the duration of their visit.

Visitors are not permitted to go to any other area in the facility.

We strongly encourage visitors who are not fully vaccinated to have a BinaxNOW,
COVID-19 test prior to visiting a resident.
These tests are available to be administered by the receptionist.

General Visiting Guidelines:

  • Visiting hours are not restricted, however we recommend visiting times between 10am and 8pm to allow residents to complete morning and evening care.
  • Any visitor who does not comply with infection control practices, social distancing while in transit to and from the resident’s room or who does not wear a face covering throughout the visit will be asked to leave the premises and may be restricted from visiting in the future.
  • It is recommended that the Resident and if present, their roommate wear a surgical facemask during the visit.
  • Young children need to be able to consistently wear a face covering in order to visit.
  • When visitors arrive, they will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms have their temperature checked. We will decline entry if the visitor presents with any symptoms of COVID-19 or has a temperature of 100.0F or greater.
  • Visitors who develop signs or symptoms of COVID-19 within 2 days of being at the facility for a visitation must immediately notify Christopher House of the date they were at the facility, and the individuals they were in contact with.
  • Visitors will perform hand hygiene upon entering the screening area, prior to entering and upon leaving the resident’s room and after any close contact with the resident using alcohol-based hand rub..
  • It is not recommended that residents who are on isolation or quarantined receive visitors due to the risk of infection transmission to the visitor. However, visits are allowed if desired once the visitor has been educated on the risks associated with the visit.

We thank you for your cooperation with this visitation procedure.
