Transition to Christopher House, Inc.
In 1995, Christopher House, Inc., a non-profit, took over the former Belmont Home from Worcester City. The next year, they launched a Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, introducing one of Worcester’s first Sub-Acute Units, which offered advanced and innovative care.
Service Expansion and Certification
Christopher House included Long Term Care for those needing 24-hour medical support and achieved Joint Commission Accreditation. Their membership in The Massachusetts Senior Care Association underscores their commitment to high-quality care.
The Grantham Group Management
Managed by The Grantham Group, with over 100 combined years of healthcare experience. The Grantham Group also developed and manages Christopher Heights of Worcester, an affordable assisted living community on-site, and similar communities in Webster, Attleboro, Marlborough, Northampton, and Belchertown.

Christopher House provides skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and therapy services for families throughout Worcester and Central Massachusetts.
We are proud to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a 2025 Best Nursing Home for both Long-Term Care and Short-Term Rehabilitation — a distinction earned by fewer than 19% of nursing homes nationwide.
We are a 150-bed Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center located atop Belmont Hill in Worcester, Massachusetts. Our care team includes physicians, nurses, certified nursing assistants, supervisors, therapists, pathologists, nutrition professionals, recreation staff, social workers, and support staff. They work collaboratively and compassionately to encourage residents to function at their optimum level within their abilities. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, private funds, and most HMO plans/private insurance.
