Little Moments, Meaningful Connections: November at Christopher House
A familiar song. A friendly visit. A game that gets everyone talkingโand maybe brings out a little competitive spirit.
November at Christopher House is filled with opportunities to enjoy good company, explore interests, and share a laugh. Across Belmont, Putnam, Hillside, and Brookside, the activities calendars offer plenty to look forward to as the days grow cooler.
A few very welcome visitors
For residents who enjoy animals, November includes some especially sweet company. Zekeโs pet visits are scheduled on Mondays in Belmont and Wednesday afternoons in Putnam. On Thursday, November 5, the Belmont, Putnam, and Hillside calendar also includes a farm visit from 2โ3 p.m., followed by reminiscing about pets and sharing fun facts about animals.
Whether someone once had a beloved dog, grew up around farm animals, or simply enjoys a friendly visitor, there will be plenty to talk about.
Music worth making time for
Music is woven throughout the month, from morning gatherings featuring favorite artists to live performances.
On Wednesday, November 4, from 2:30โ3:30 p.m., Clyde Wheatley will play the saxophone for Belmont, Putnam, and Hillside residents. Later, on Friday, November 13, a Name That Tune and sing-along featuring music from the 1950s is planned.
Brooksideโs calendar includes sing-alongs, music with instruments, and Saturday sensory groups with music. On Friday, November 13, Brookside will also celebrate Yellow Submarine Day, with a submarine-making activity, trivia, and an evening showing of Yellow Submarine.
A little creativityโand a little friendly competition
There are plenty of ways to join in, whether residents prefer making something, solving something, or cheering someone on.
Belmont, Putnam, and Hillside highlights include Games Galore on November 2, the Reading 2 Connect program in the library on November 3, and Craft Corner on November 12. Bingo, Pokeno, and familiar game-show activities round out the calendar.
In Brookside, Artist Corner, adult art, whiteboard games, and poetry offer different ways to participate. Readerโs Theater on November 12 adds another opportunity to enjoy words and storytelling together.
Something to celebrate
The Belmont, Putnam, and Hillside birthday celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, from 2:30โ4 p.m. It is one more reason to gather and recognize the people who make this community special.
These are just a few of Novemberโs planned activities. Throughout the month, there will be opportunities for conversation, creativity, familiar favorites, and something a little different.
We look forward to a November filled with good company at Christopher House.
